#Microblog Mondays: Little things that make a big difference

I think I might have some hormonal thing going on because lately I feel what I can only describe as icky a lot of the time, even after shower with clean clothes.

However, yesterday we attended to two things that I hope will help:

1. Haircut (both myself and Mr. Turtle were getting very shaggy)

2. New bras. The two I had were fine at first, but lately the gigantoboobs have not been happy in them.  Right boob also has a tendency toward blocked ducts, which so far has not turned into a major problem, fortunately. I am hopeful  that a different style and size of bra is more comfortable.

AJ:

...is currently napping beside me.
...is going to a Christmas concert tonight.
...has been sounding congested at night, wheezing and thrashing about. She sleeps through it, albeit noisily, but I get rather less sleep as it sounds like she is struggling to breathe. We are going to start using a humidifier and see if that helps. Tried the nasal bulb, but it seems to big for her nose and I don't want to force it in.   Planning to get a NoseFrida too...not sure if that is necessary yet.  I also bring her into the bathroom with me when I shower (sometimes twice a day).

(it really is a microblog this time)

    1. Had a good day yesterday and both AJ and I slept well last night, so that helps! Thanks. The haircut feels awesome.

  2. All that sounds completely normal! I hope AJ isn't coming down with anything, I find the humidifier helps. I started using the nose sucker (from Shoppers Drugs) at 3 weeks and its AMAZING!

    Have fun at the concert!

    1. Good to know about the Shoppers Drug Mart nose sucker. We have one nearby so can always grab that if we need to. Also glad to hear we sound normal. I hope AJ isn't sick too. I'm inclined to think not, because she seems to have the issues only sometimes, and if she was sick I would expect to see the problem all the time. I'm thinking it's cold dry air at night because I think the humidifier did help last night.

  3. Oh my goodness, I am having the icky thing too! What is the deal with that? I shower multiple times a day to try to feel "clean," but then I just feel icky again in a few hours. I never thought about it possibly being hormonal. Glad you got a haircut and new bras! Those things can really brighten a girl's day :) I'm sorry AJ has the sniffles :/ I hope she enjoys the concert!

    1. Sorry you are dealing with the ickies as well! I think it might be hormonal because I vaguely remember similar feelings around certain times of the month pre-pregnancy. Although I can barely remember that far back. :-) Breastfeeding also does things to your hormones I'm sure.

  4. A fresh haircut always makes me feel better. Hope it works for you, and I hope AJ stays healthy! Baby colds must be NO FUN.

    1. the haircut did help a lot! I think AJ is healthy; the congestion doesn't seem to be interfering with her ability to feed and it only seems to show up sometimes (she also naps/sleeps for long periods of time with no issue). I'm thinking it's dry winter air.

  5. Hope she feels better soon.

A new bra changes my whole outlook on things. I feel like I'm up for a bra change again. My last one changed the whole way I stood and felt about my body.
